| Accident Sickness & Unemployment |
 |
| With accident sickness & unemployment policies (ASU), you pay for an amount of monthly cover - usually between £0 and £3,000 and if you lose you job or cant work, you get that amount of money each month to spend how you like. Policies usually pay out for up to a year, however some of the more comprehensive plans can pay until you return to work if you are sick or injured. |
 |
| The cliam period for redundancy/unemployment cover is 12 months.
Redundancy/unemployment insurance providers also place an exclusion of 30-120 days during which if the policyholder is made redundant/unemployed they will not be able to claim. So it is important to minimise this initial exclusion period. |

30 day back to day one ?
The policyholder would need to be unemployed for a total of 30 days before they would be able to claim. |
